ABOUT PYCC
The Portland Youth Climate Council is a youth-powered group defending our right to a stable climate and sustainable future by shaping policy and advocating for change. ​Our goal is to provide the City of Portland and other entities with a youth perspective on how to best meet the city’s climate and environmental goals.
Our History
PYCC was created in May, 2017 through the efforts of Portland area youth. PYCC was added to the City of Portland's 100 Percent Renewable Energy by 2050 resolution, in a clause that stated, "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City will establish a Youth Climate Council to provide regular support and advice to the city in meeting our climate goals through strong, science-based action." The resolution was unanimously passed by City Council.
